20th May 2013   - Pre-Harvest

As this is my first experience with Alphonse Lavalle fruiting, I was not so sure when to harvest it. It's not yet 120 days since I pruned it. But due to my eagerness to taste my own, first black grape, I picked three bunches and proudly presented to my family after dinner that evening. I let them have the honor to try first. I was expecting them to clap and say, "Bravo! Superb!!". As I watched, my son's facial expression was not very encouraging and so as my wife's. But they swallowed it any how. Then I picked one....hmmm...no wonder, it's sweet and sour.

27th May 2013   - Final Harvest

27th May 2013 - Ripe Alphonse Lavalle fruit...

27th May 2013 - Alphonse Lavalle, ready to be chilled in the fridge

Ahhhh.....finally...I received the best compliment from both of them. The chilled, ripe Alphonse Lavalle grape is just superb - sweet and tasty! After 13 months since I planted it at my backyard, I know, and you readers know it, I deserved a pat on the back. Don't I? Hahaha...

That's it. This is the final update of this posting.

  2. Faezal, (in Malay Language, in case others want to use google translete :))

Bagus, bagus... :) Ikuti terus blog ini kerana saya sedang giat mempersiapkan beberapa pokok anggur saya (2 While Malaga, 1 Flame Seedless, 1 Black Opal, 1 Carolina Black Rose, 1 Alphonse Lavalle, 2 IAC untuk berbuah serentak awal tahun depan! Imaginasi awal saya - keliling rumah dipenuhi buah anggur yang berbagai warna - hijau kekuningan, merah dan hitam.
