My IAC#1 started its life in a pot, supported by a simple pergola structure.

7th Nov 2011 - 5 months old

The pot was removed (hammered to pieces!) when the bottom holes get clogged by the thickening roots as mentioned in my "Breaking The Pots" post.

23rd Nov 2011

The ugly rotten pergola was replaced with  trellis system using galvanized pipes and wires as posted in the "Goodbye Pergola, Hello Trellis".

The IAC#1 bore fruit three times since it was planted in my front yard but sadly, the first two fruiting failed to ripe due to mites attack (check my "Disaster" and the "IAC Re-pruning Update 2" postings). During the third fruiting, it bore 10 bunches but I had to throw it away when I did the 4th pruning. Want to know why? First, 4 months of waiting for 10 bunches to ripe is real wasting of time. Secondly, I want it to start fruiting in September and ripe by Christmas this year!! Haha..

6th Nov 2012 - fruit setting almost completed and now entering veraison stage. 

6th Nov 2012 - much better air flow and sun light penetration using double curtains trellis

6th Nov 2012 - too many birds in this area, and bats at night too! I hope I am not making the birds angry...
Do you know that ANGRY BIRDS are dangerous? Ask your kids.

2 Dec 2012 - Getting ripe too early! Will be harvested in a week time.

8th Dec 2012 - Nice? :)

18th Dec 2012  - final product: chilled grape juice...sweet and very refreshing!
